Ensemble 9 directed by Rob Parton, is comprised of the finest studio jazz musicians in Chicago. The musicians have collectively played on literally thousands of local/national radio and television spots. Many of them have played with hundreds of Jazz artists from Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson, Mel Torme, Bob James, Frank Sinatra Sr. and The Tonight Show band directed by Doc Severinsen. Ensemble 9 was formed to provide more flexibility in terms of solo space and musical alternatives that are really not viable in the Big Band genre. The musicians are all prominent jazz educators in the Chicago area.
